2019 Earth Day Art Contest Rules
Participating students must attend a school located in Phelan or Piñon Hills.
All entries must be submitted to the campus where the student attends or in the Phelan Piñon Hills Community Services District office before 5 p.m. on April 22, 2019. Any entries submitted after this date and time may not be accepted or considered. Only one artwork entry may be submitted for each art category (recycling or water conservation). Entries must meet the artwork requirements specified and must include the artist's name, grade, their teacher's name, and their school's name printed legibly on the back of their artwork. Entries not containing this information may be disqualified. All contest entry artwork must be the student's original, hand-drawn creation using pens, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, or paints. Clipart, photographs, duplicated artwork, mechanically or electronically generated artwork is ineligible and will be disqualified. Artwork must be submitted on 8.5"x11" paper. Larger or smaller artwork will not be considered for the contest. The purpose of this contest is to help students understand the importance of recycling and conserving water and the positive effect it has on the environment and our community.
The artwork will be grouped into one of the following categories:
The top three (3) works of art in each grade category will be selected based on the Judging Criteria listed. Three winners will be selected in each grade category for each art category; only winners will be notified.
