Phelan, Calif. (March 13, 2019) - On April 18, 2019, the Phelan Piñon Hills Community Services District (PPHCSD) will hold its 8th Annual Tri-Community Senior Health Fair at Serrano High School, located at 9292 Sheep Creek Road in Phelan, California.  Normally occurring in March of each year, the event moved to April this year to coincide with the movement of Snowline School District's spring break period, allowing PPHCSD use of Serrano High School's facilities.  The event takes place in Serrano High School's gymnasium from 10am to 1pm and is free and open to all persons aged 50 or better and their caregivers.
A free lunch is provided for senior attendees along with free access to vendor and informational booths, health screenings, numerous raffles, and a grand prize raffle.  Last year, over 500 people attended the Tri-Community Senior Health Fair, the largest in the High Desert.  Attendees participated in a variety of health screenings, including stroke risk assessments, blood glucose screenings, vision screenings, cholesterol and lipid screenings, balance assessments, and several other screenings, all free of charge.
Over 50 vendors and service organizations will be in attendance this year, including Saint Mary's Medical Center, Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group, San Bernardino County's Department of Aging & Adult Services, the County Assessor's Office, and many more agencies and services that support seniors.  "This is a wonderful opportunity for High Desert seniors to meet and become aware of the area's healthcare providers and other vital services," noted Steve Lowrance, the PPHCSD's Parks Supervisor and Health Fair organizer.
The event is presented by the Phelan Piñon Hills Community Services District, Snowline Joint Unified School District, Inland Valley Hospice Care, and First District County Supervisor Robert Lovingood's office.  Additionally, the event is sponsored by Heritage Medical Group, the Medicine Shoppe, and the Sterling Inn.
